CARISBROOK GROUND.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Is it not time the tramway authorities made a move in the matter of providing a tram service to Carisbrook Ground. Large crowds are attending the matches at this ground (I understand the ’ VarsityKaikorai gate was a record one for a firstround match), and the car service must be losing a lot of revenue each Saturday. Not only so, the present conditions are inviting an accident. The way the cars proroeaing over the hill to town after the game are packed must surely be a public danger. Another matter I would like to mention is the condition of the approach to the ground from the Wilkie road railway bridge, along Neville street. There is no footpath for some part of the way, and generally it is in a disgraceful condition. This is th© shortest way from the ground to town, and the public are at least entitled to a decent footpath.—l am, etc., Citizen. June 10.
