In the hard courts championship tournament, Wilding defeated Decugis, 6-1, 6-2. 6-1. Wilding outclassed the French champion whose first service constantly failed. Wilding, playing perfect tennis, commenced powerful driving from the base. He was then unplayable. He also smashed at the net and Anally reverted to the base line. He was in invincible form throughout the tournament.
