Northamptonshire's second venture only yielded 57, Blythe taking seven wickets for 15 runs and Woolley three for 26. Kent won the match 'by 227 runs, the total* being : Kent (86 and 339), 425; Northamptonshire (141 and 57), 198. Playing for Warwickshire against Middlesex, at Birmingham, F. E. Foster scored 51 runs in 15 minutes.
