», , SIB JOSEPH WARD'S SEAT. [Special to the Stab] QUEENSTOWN, April 30. At the Bluff Harbor Board elections Sir Joseph Ward polled 505 votes and Mr W. Tieid 219. In thanking the electors for his .return, Sir Joseph said that whereas ths defeat of*his opponent meant nothing to hixa (ilr Reitli. it would have made all the difference to the speaker, as he would have been misrepresented *nd _ misnnderetood. He said lie had never in his lire been defeated at an election. He promised ti do all in his power to conserve; the interests of the port of Bluff, and make it worthy of the important district it serves.. He would also not forget the interests of the Lake district. Sir Joseph motel's through to Alexandra to-day, and on to Mosgiel to-morrow.
