- SEAMEN’S UNION.. , WELLINGTON, April 28. The Chief Justice delivered Judgment this afternoou in a declaratory judgment action in which tho Wellington section of the New Zealand branch of the Australasian Seamen's Union sought to determine whether the present members of the Wellington branch were still deemed to be m office, and whether the action of the Dunedin branch in holding a sectional ballot for the election of secretary was valid. His Honor held that no Now Zealand Federation had been created, and that Two of the rules (one of which deals with the election of sectional officers) could not come into operation. He farther held that tho election of officers could be proceeded with in December and January,
