THE QUEEN OF THE EAST ENDERS. (London Times-Sydney Sim Special Cable.) LONDON. August 20. Sylvia Pankhurst, addressing a, meeting at Bromley-by-Bow, advised the militants to master the art of jiu-jitsu. The police knew :t, therefore women also needed it. Drilling, too, was wanted in the East End Any man with an a.rmy training could drill them. Both men and women should go to all their meetings armed with sticks. A sheet of note-paper found at the Bedford fire bore the following inscription : Our beloved leader is taking holidav. ihisi is a_message to the men of Bedford" [Mrs Pankhurst, who is the "beloved leader," is m Paris.]
