THE AMOKURA INQUIRY
MR, CAMPBELL DISSATISFIED. [Per United Prf;ss Association.] WELLINGTON, March 22. Ihe Amokura inquiry was resumed on Thursday evening. Mr Harp gave evidence, and the inquiry was then adjourney till 9 a.m. to-day. Mr Campbell, late second officer of the Amokura, makes some complaints concerning the inquiry. He says he was brought from Auckland to evidence on the understanding that it was a public inquiry. He was not allowed within the building where the proceedings were held l until he was called to give evidence, although others were. The finding of the inquiry would be departmental, not puhlic, and believing that a public inquiry must eventually be held, Mr Campbell declines to submit evidence at present.
