OF CHINESE CONSUL. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. MELBOURNE, March 21. Chia has been committed for trial on a charge of wounding with intent to murder Mr Yung Liang Hwang, the Chinese. Consul-General. The evidence showed that Chia. was discharged from his Consulate employment by the Chinese Government. He intimated his intention to return to China, and sought to obtain from Mr Yung Liang Hwang introductions to Ministers. He became annoyed on not obtaining these, and was asked to leave the office. He then commenced shooting. After his arrest Chia declared that he intended to kill Yung Liang Hwang because- he abused him, and then to lull himself.
