At Agra the native Budhu testified that Clark made powdered glass out of a lamp chimney, and instructed him to give, it to his wife, but to be careful not to put it in the children's food. Subsequently Clark and Mrs Fulham asked him if he could arrange to kill Mrs Clark, and ho promised to reply later. Witness spoke to Sukhia, who replied that he was unable to do it for a hundred rupee.?, as he wanted more. Witness took Sukhia to the house of Mrs Fulham, who conversed with Sukhia at length. Payment beforehand was demanded, but it was promised when the work was done. It was arranged that the money should bo entrusted 'to witness. About a week later Clark told Sukhia that he wa6 handing the money to witness, adding "Do the job to-night." Witness accompanied Sukhia and Rambat to Budhakanjoro's house, and another man, whom Sukhia found in a bazaar, joined "them. Budhakanjoro handed Rambat a large knife, and they all went to Clark's bungalow. Clark arrived, removed a barking .dog, and quitted the house, while Budhu remained outside. Rambat returned, savins; that he was unable to distinguish * the mother from the daughter. Budhu pointed out the forms in the bed. The two men .who were not arrested carried a lamp. Rambat and Sukhia stood behind a curtain near the daughter. Bndhakanjore took the lamp from the other meu and gave the woman a heavy cut. Directlv she shrieked he gave her another cut, and she writhed and Tolled over. Subsequently Rambat and Sukhia clamored for payment, and were referred to Clark. Witness was not a.ware whether they were paid, because he was arrested. The further hearing of the case has been adjourned till January 7.
