GREEKS CONTINUE THE FIGHTING ON LAND AND SEA. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. CONSTANTINOPLE, December 23. There has been further severe fighting in the vicinity of Janina. The' Turkish right was driven in, and Djavid Pasha killed. Reinforcements enabled the Turks to drive off the Greeks. The casualties on both sides were heavy. ATHENS, December 23. A Turkish squadron made a sortie in the Dardanelles. The torpedoers, going at full speed, fired 20 shells. The inhabitants attempted to welcome the fleet, but theGreek garrison fired, killing three civilians and wounding 12. The squadron then re-entered the Dardanelles. Admiral Coundourioffi's squadron at Lemnos pursued the Turkish ships, without result. SORTIES FROM SCUTARI. ATHENS, December 23. The Turks mado several sorties at Scutari, and burned two adjoining villages. The Servians repelled them, inflicting heavy losses. TURKEY'S LATEST APPEAL. CONSTANTINOPLE, December 23. The Porte has cabled fresh instructions to London. It is believed that these invoke the good offices of the Powers to promote an agreement. THE ALLIES' TERMS. LONDON, December 23. (Received December 24, at 12.45 p.m.) M. Novakovitch. (Servia) prec-ided at the Peace _ Conference when the Allies' peace conditions were presented. The Turks stated that they required time to consider them. They did not insist on the revictualling of Adiianople. The Conference then adjourned.
