The Moray Place School Committee met last night, Mr A. Miller presiding. The head master reported a record number of 355 pupils on tho roll, 16 new pupils having been enrolled during the month. The inspector's report on the recent examination was read, and the committee resolved to send their hearty congratulations to the head master on the excellent tone of the report. The secreta.vy was also instructed io olace on record the committees high appreciation of the good work accomplished by Mr J. N. Stewart and his sWJ during the past year. A. letter was received from the secretary of the Trades and Labor Council asking the echool to co-operate in making the exhibition of locally-manufactured goods a success. It was agreed to do so. The term holidays are to take place from September 9 to 16. Messrs M'Gill and Kroon were appointed a Visiting Committee. Arbor Day will be obserwed by the scholars planting trees in Cargill street at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. The bank book showed that the funds were in a healthy condition. The Visiting Committee reported that a room for the use of the teachers was now furnished, and was much used and appreciated. The school and grounds were all in excellent order.
