SALES OF WORK.

KENSINGTON CHURCH. A sale of work in aid of the Kensington branch of St. Church was opened in the Kensington Church this afternoon by the Rev. Dr Waddell. The stalls comprise plain work, produce, sweets, flowers, and refreshments, and there is also a Christmas tree. They are in charge of Mesdames Bain, Mollison, Marshal], Moss, Mackney, White, Driver, Sutherland, Reid, and Neilands, The Sunshine Guild have charge of the Christmas tree, and the side shows are being run by the Young Men’s Bible Class. Competitions and other attractions are promised for this evening. The sale dill be continued to-morrow afternon and night. ST. HILDA BAZAAR. The sale of work in aid of the building fund of the Anglican Church at St. Hilda was very successful last night. The Town Hall was packed to the door, and good business was done at the attractive stalls. In declaring the bazaar open, the Mayor (Mr H. -M. living) congratulated the promoters on the excellent display they had made, and expressed the hope that their efforts would be crowned with success. Dining tbo evening selections were given by Beck’s Orchestra. A short address was given by the Rev. E. D. Evans, and several songs were contributed during the evening. The bazaar was promoted by the Radies’ Guild of the St. Hilda branch of St. Peter’s Church. If last night be taken as an augury of the future, their aim should bo gained before the bazaar is brought to a close on Thursday night. Each evening a programme of entertainment will be given. The baking competition resulted thus; Plain scones, Miss Edwards; date scones, Miss A. Barnett : pikelets, Miss Dunstan ; plain sjionge, Mrs M'Lennan ; decorated sponge, Miss Gore ; shortbread, Mrs Riley ; pound cake. Miss Robertson. METHODIST MISSIONS. The annual sale organised by the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Methodist Foreign Missions in aid of the fund for supporting sisters sent to the missions was opened in the Trinity Schoolroom this afternoon by tbo Rev. W. Slade. The stalls carried an enticing display of goods of all kinds, and the sale opened with every promise of shining success. This evening there will bo a musical programme and a scries of competitions, and another diverting programme is promised for to-morrow night, when the sale ends. The stalls are held by the following Indies : —-Work stall, ladies of the committee ; refreshments —Mrs W. H. Duke, Mrs RainsfoiTh, and assistants ; sweets, Mesdames Slater and West; Christmas tree. Misses Maxwell and Sparrow ; handkerchief and doily stall. Misses Wilson and Esplin and the Y.W. Bible Class; T.Y.P.C. class stall. Miss Hetherington : produce. Misses Ackroyd and Fea ; curio stall, president and secretary; entertainments Committee, Mrs Dcy and Miss Hart-lev.
