The American visible wheat supply is 54.555.0C0 bushels. On Saturday Messrs Friedlander Eros., of Ashburton, bought the well-known Newstead Estate, in "the Waikato, not far from Hamilton, comprising _3,000 acres, with stock and plant (including 700 cows and creameries, etc.), as a going concern, at a price in the neighborhood of £(0,0C0. —Lyttelton ‘Times.’ THE TALLOW SALES, Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON. August 2. (Received August 5, at 8.5 a.m.) At the tallow sales 452 casks were offered and 142 sold. Mutton, fine oos 6d, medium 52s 6d; beef, fine 535, medium 31s.

ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. At Addington saleyards yesterday there were moderate, entries of stock, and. as is usual the week before tho Grand (National meeting, there were some extra prime lines of fat sheep and cattlo offered, and they' made exceptionally good prices. , Beet generally sold at about tho previous week's 'prices. ‘ Good young store ewes maintained their values, but hoggets showed a decline. The fat lambs offered were nt inferior and ordinary quality, and made onlv moderate prices. There were only a lev; new season's lambs penned, and they sold well. Eat sheep of all classes were in good demand. Store cattle were duller sale, and dairy nows were not selling as well as of late.' Fat pips were in demand, and stores met with a dragging sale.
