ANNUAL MEETING.
HOMOEOPATHIC ASSOCIATION.
The Dunedin Homoeopathic Association held their annual meeting last evening, -Mr P. Barr (president) being in the chair. The annual report, read by the hon. secretary (Mr S. IS. Harloek) was as follows : —" 'though not much aggressive work ha* been accomplished during this year, the association are in a flourishing condition. The membership is about the same as last year (105), and the interest of members is kept up by the 'Homoeopathic Envoy,' which comes regularly every month. The ' Homajopathic World" is forwarded to Uie Dunedin Athenaeum and the Free Public Library. We feel eure that if occasion arose members would show their sympathy in the cause of the association in a practical manner. In March Dr Deck, of Sydney, delivered an interesting lecture in "St. Paul's Schoolroom, which was well attended. Our beat thanks are due to the doctor for his help. The committee decided to forward each member a copy of Burnett's 'Fifty Reasons.' As this is out of print, we could not do this. The secretary and treasurer are retiring from office. Though regretting this, they are pleased to report that the association is in a good financial position." The balance-sheet, submitted by Mr W. Deck (treasurer), ehowed a. credit balance of £6 13s Bd.
The Chairman, in moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, which w-as agreed to, pointed out that their association had been the means of circulating literature and bringing about conversations on matters connected with homceopaihy. It was not likely that their association would become a popular one, as from the point of view of medical men its professional members were not orthodox ; therefore it would necessarily take a long time before the principles of homoeopathy became universal. The principal event in connection with the association was the visit of Dr Deck, from Sydney, which was of a very interesting nature. They were also greatlv indebted to Dr Stephenson, the only homo-opal hie practitioner resident ir. Dunedin, who had rendered valuable service.
Mr P. Barr declined re-election as president, which office he had held for two years, and the following were elected officebearers : —President, Dr Stephenson ; vicepresidents—Messrs W. A. Ewing, W. Setb Smith, G. R Hercns ; committee—Messrs J. Kerr, A. M'Naugh + oh, John Wilkinson, W. J. Love, J. Crow, R. Ewing, J. Hereus, and R. Campbell; secretary, Mr R. Campbell ; treasurer, Mr P. Hereri6. Votes of thanks were accorded to the retiring president (Mr Ban), to the late treasurer and secretary, and to Messrs Wileon and Kerr for the use of rooms. Dr Stephenson read a paper and quoted from the ' Homoeopathic World' a number of cases that had been very successfully treated homoeopathically.
