.A MOTHER IMPRISONED FOR A DAY AND BURNED TO DEATH. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. BERLIN,. February 20. (Received February 21, at 8.5 a.m.) A woman in Silesia was sentenced to imprisonment for a day, being unablo to pay the shilling fine imposed for not sending her children to school. The straw in the cell in which she was put caught fire, and, the woman’s cries being unheard, she was burned to death. Nino children are left orphans.
