As a final protest against the Meiklo grant. Mr Anderson and Mr Malcolm moved a reduction of the total vote by £A. Both had abstained from voting on Mr Nonworthv’s amendment, became of tho vicious principle involved,—Negatived on the voices. Mr Hogan moved to reduce tho tola! vole by £l, as indicating lito need of setting up a committee of criminal appeal or introducing legislation to meet caper, like that of Olaf Hughes. Mr Wilford said he honestly believed that Hughes was as innocent as any man could be. —The motion was carried" unanimously.
