LONDON, December 2, (Received December 5. at 8.0 a.m.)

The Royal Society have awardee] .Madame Curie the Albert medal.

[The discovery of radium in its metallic form constitutes the crowning glory of the most remarkable research of modern times. Madame Curio was the first to see the 'wonderful metal, whoso existence had been so long suspected and whose amazing properties had been investigated by herself and her late husband, Professor Curio. When husband and wife were working together they were seeking for something which lay buried in minute quantities in thousands of tons of a rock called pitchblende. The wonderful patience and skill of the two scientists in following up a definite idea were rewarded to a certain extent, after many years of labor. The full reward came at last, but only one of them remains to receive it.]
