Sue flew for fifty-two minutecovering a distance of thirty miles. T_.id. night the Dunedin Choral Society held then- first rehearsal of Handels ‘ Messiah,’ wliich it is purposed to give on Qje 21sfc December. There was a splendid attendance of the chorus, who, in response to an invitation sent out to the church clioirs to assist, were largely augmented by manv who make a practice of singing in the ’‘Messiah’ at the festive season. The musical public who arc acquainted with this work are invited to co-operate with the society on this occasion. The practices aro held every 'Tuesday evmtng in the Art Gallery. The Hackney Borough Council have opened a shop to demonstrate to small consumers that electricity is cheaper than gas.
