Loyal Ft. Kilda Lodge held their fort nightly meeting on Thursday evening last in lhe' Masonic Hall, Musselburgh. Owing to the N.G. (Bro. H. M. Ewing) being out of town, P.U.D.G.M. Bro. I). Swintoi; presided. Two candidates were initiated, and general routine business was transacted. The toast of the visitors was responded u by representatives from the District, Pioneer, Leith, Unity, and Maori Hill Lodges. The Loyal Leith Lodge held their usual fortnightly meeting in the Oddfellows’Hall, Albany street, on the 31st ult., Bro. A. L. Laney presiding over a fair attendance of members and visitors. As the syllabus for the evening was ‘A Growlers’ Night,’ the, N.G. called a recess, dtying which time the brothers related their grievances. This caused great amusement. The lodge having been recalled, a good deal of business wart rone through. The toasts were responded to by Bros. W. Smith, D.D.G.M. (Maori Hill), Bro. Kilpatrick (Pioneer), and Bro. Swinton (Unity). The bi-wcekly meeting of the Loyal Maori Hill Lodge was held on Tuesday night hi the lodge room, Ward’s Hall, Lothian street. The N.G. (Bro. W. Smith) presided over a good attendance of members and visitors. The programme for the evening was a lantern entertainment. After business had been transacted, the V.G. (Bro. R. H. Scott) entertained the company by showing them a number of views of Lake Wakatipn and other places, also some comic slides, which wore heartily applauded. The following were nominated as candidates for Grand Lodge representatives Bro. W. Smith. D.D.G.M. (Linden and Maori Hill), Bro. Swinton, P.G. (Unity), Bro. Kilpatrick, P.G. (Pioneer), and Bro. T. P.oscvcare, P.G. (St. Kilda). A vote to tho visitors was given by acclamation, as was also a vote of thanks to Bio. Scott, V.G., for his lantern entertainment.
The fortnightly meeting of Miriam Rebekah Lodge was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Kensington, on Monday evening, N.G. Sis. M. M’Crone presiding. After the routine business had been disposed of, the N.G. adjourned the lodge for the purpose of holding a euchre party and dance. The Linda Rebekah Lodge held their meeting in the Linden Lodge room, Roslyn, on the 21st ult. The lodge was opened by tho N.G. (Sis. Mitchell). The night was wet. so tho attendance was not so large as usual.
