Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. THE CLEMENT-BAYARD PURCHASE. LONDON, October 31. (Received November 1, at 8.5 a,m.) The price originally asked for the Clement-Bayard dirigible was £25,000. The War Office, however, did not consider they were justified in giving more than £12.500, on the ground that the sellers defined to give the tests in accordance with the findings of Lord Rayleigh’s Aeronautical Committee, and that the balloon envelope was partly worn out. Finally £IB,OOO was agreed upon, and Mi Harvey Ducros subscribed the remaining £5,500 to prevent the airship going back to France.
