Linden ix>dge, U.A.0.D., held their half-yearly meeting- on Tuesday for the reception of the balance-sheet- and auditor’s report and the election and installation of officers for the incoming six months. An apology was received for the, absence of the Arch-Druid, and J.P.A. Bro. J. Collier occupied the chair. D.G.P. Bro. K. Sunderland, along with P D.P. Bro. Robertson and P.A. Bro. Steele, paid an official visit on behalf of the D. Grand Lodge. D.P. Bro. J. Freeman and P.D.P. Bio. Hudson also attended officially. The balance-sheet and auditor’s report, which were adopted, showed the substantial increase of £67 5s 2d for the half-year in the funds, which now total £1,505 4s lOd. The auditors congratulated the lodge on the healthy state of the finances, the trustees for their careful as well as profitable investments, and the officers on their true and clear records of the lodge business. The election of officers resulted as follows; —A.D., Bio. W. D. Havard ; V.A., Bro. A. G. May; secretary, Bro. E. Sunderland (re-elected); treasurer, Bro. F. Farley (re-elected); LG., Bro. R. Herd ; 0.G., Pro. R; itord; A.D. Bards, Bros. G. Newman and Wm. Thompson; V.A. Bards, Bros. Win. Hogg and Jas. Duff. The officers were installed by D.P. Bro. Freeman, assisted by P.D.P. Blip. Robertson. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to P.A. Bro. J. Collier for the creditable discharge of his duties in the various chairs of the lodge, and it was resolved that his name be inscnhed on the merit board. : D.P. Bro. Freeman presented toBro. Collier, on behalf of the lodge, a framed P.A. diploma, for which the recipient returned thanks, and acknowledged the advantage gained by his experience in oflice. D.G. President Bro. E. Sunderland, in responding to the toast of “ Grand , .Lodge,V briefly referred to thp progress of the Order, and' tp the!important proposals at present under ■; consideration, which should further increase its prosperity. D.P. Bro. Freeman, P.D.P. Bro. Hudson, and P.A. Bro. Brockio responded to the third, fourth, and fifth toasts. Votes of thanks were passed to the retiring officers and the, installing:officers. The half-yearly meeting of the Ivanhoe Lodge was larg'ely, attended, Owing to the balance-sheet not being ready, the installation of officers was held over till next lodge night. The lodge were favored with a visit from D.G. President Bro. K. Sunderland and Board of Management, DDL Bro. Freeman (No. 1 District), P.A. Bro. Mitchell (Royal Oak). Secretary Bro. Crawford and Bro. Wat-on (Lily), and Bro. Foss (Otago). Five candidates were initiated.
