GREEN ISLAND RIFLES. The Green Island Rifles fired the first competition of the first match for the company’s championship and belt and other prizes on Saturday. The wind interfered considerably with the scoring. The following were the scores made, seven shots being fired at each range:— —A Class.—
PRIZE MEETING AT RANDWICK. At the Jubilee prize meeting of the National Rifle Association of New South Wales the Colonial Ammunition Company’s trophy, which is open to Australian and New Zealand teams, was won on Saturday by the Adelaide Rifle Club. EMPIRE POSTAL MATCH. r i LONDON, October 9. , The following are the results of the Empire Postal Shooting Match ;—Transvaal 928, Sydney 914, Natal 904, Melbourne 904, Cape Colony 895, New Zealand 888, Ismdon 868. A team from the Caversham Rifles went up to Rauiurly and fired a rtiatch against the Maniototo Mounted Rifles. Scores ■ Maniototo 388, Caversham 384. The Dunedin Rifle Club and the Dunedin Navals held practice matches on Saturday.
