BOY SCOUTS.

The weekly mooting of the South End boys was held in Mr Calder’s shop in tho Main road. Thor© were present some fifty boys and Chief Scout-master Calder and Scout-master Grainger. The boys were formed into patrols and addressed on the duties of scout work. The North End boys met in the Filleul Street Hall last evening, there being a large attendance. The boys were paraded and put through some useful work, the officer present being Chief Scout-master Garr. Arrangements are now almost completed for a now room. Tho Valley Scouts met last evening, and were put through some excellent work. There were some forty boys present, besides Chief Scout-master Arthur. The Roslyn and Maori Hill boys under Chief Scout-master Dredge met in the Gymnasium last night, there being a large attendance, over fifty boys being present. Some useful work was put in by'the boys, after which the Chief Scout-master gave an explanation of the work. On Monday next a public meeting is to be held_ in the Young Men’s Christian Association Rooms with a view to commencing a Central Division of the Boy Scouts. At tho meeting all the boys who desire to become sconts are expected to attend. Short addresses will be given by the officers and others.
