Hamann, at one time of the Dunedin office of tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, and for the last three years in the Invercargill office, has been transferred to Oamaru. lie Invercargill Court returns for the quarter ended September 30 show an increase of convictions over those of the June quarter, the figures being respectively 139 and 114. The lambing has been very prolific in the district, and as the weather has been of the best very little mortality is reported. The average all round is over 100 per cent. Dairy matters are also in full swing, and considerable interest has resulted from the fact that the Edendale factory paid out over £2,000 to their shareholders on Monday. Farming w-ork is also well in hand, and several crops are already showing through. * &
