YACHTS AND MOTOR BOATS

ANNUAL MEETING OF CLUB. Commodore A. C Hanlon presided over the annual meeting of the,Otago Yacht and Motor Boat Club last night in the Irades Hall. There was a good attendance of members—over forty. Several apologies for absence were received, including one from the vice-commodore (Mr H. E. Holier, flavor of West Harbor). Ihc Commodore moved the adoption of the annual report and balance-sheet (published). He did not make a speech. Rear-conunodore C. G. Smith seconded the motion, which was carried unaniinouslv. Lho following office-bearers were elected : —Commodore,' Mr A. C. Hanlon (reelected) ; vice-commodore, Mr H. K. Mollcr (re-elected).; rear-commodore, Mr C. G. Smith (re-elected); hon. treasurer, Mr E. C. Hewlett (re-elected) ; hon. secretary, Mr c! M‘Keegan (re-elected); official measurer. Mr W. Arthur Re-elected); hon, auditors, Messrs H. M. Ewing and A. E. Fish (reelected) ; committee—Messrs A. Bedford H. Dodgshun, W. J. P. M‘Culloch, G. G Maltby, A. Morgan, N. Gliphont, J. Robertson, C. Sundstrum, L. .Warren, J. Wheeler.

On the motion of Mr K. G. Hazlett, it was resolved—“ That the following be added to chib rule 5: ‘Tho Committee shall be empowered to appoint, if necessary, an honorary assistant secretary.’ ” The matter of fixing tho date for opening day waa left in the hands of the Committee.

There was a bit of a discussion about the ocean race for tho Rudder Cup, and it was resolved that it bo a recommendation to the Committee that the race bo sailed under some measurement role, and nut under a handicap on performance. It was also resolved, as a recommendation to the Committee, that thq race start on Christmas Eve, the course to be left to the Committee to decide.

A motion that the club construct a benzine vault for tho convenience of club motor boat owners lapsed for want of support. It was decided that the- Committee take into consideration the reclassification of sailing boats. Mr Hanlon tliankod tho members for reelecting him as commodore.
