AUSTRALIAN PRESS
INVITATION TO BRITISH EDITORS. REDUCED CABLE RATES. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. MELBOURNE, November 7. (Received November 7, at 10.35 a.m.) Mr Deakin, replying to the County Press Conference deputation, said that £I,OOO had been placed on the Estimates to invite editors of British newspapers to visit Australia. The London Clumber of Commerce would be asked to select the guests. The question of reduced cable rates was receiving attention, but the question of an All-Red cable route was a difficult one, owing to the trouble of getting all the partners thereto into line.
