PROHIBITION IN MAINE IS A SUCCESS! At the close of an eloquent address from Pastor Edmonds that roused the packed audience at the Alhambra Theatre to a memorable ovation at the close, the following motion was moved by Mrs Don and seconded by Mr A. V. Mazengarb, and carried without a single dissentient hand being held up, and amid great enthusiasm ‘ * * a * * * « “ Phis audience, after hearing the magnificent address from Pastor Edmonds, desire to express their profound conviction that, seeing that the three neighboring Canadian provinces have voted 71,000 to 16,000 in favor of Prohibition, and that the three neighboring States on the American side are more than two-thirds Nolicense by their own vote, it is absurd to say that Prohibition in Maine is not a success. The opinion of the neighbors is good enough for us, and this opinion overwhelmingly supports No-liccnsc.” ******* Pastor Edmonds speaks in the same hall this evening upon ‘ Tomsonian Temperance,’ and will explain why the cities in Maine show poorer results than do the country districts. (By arrangement.) (No-license Par, No. 18.)
