OAMARU HARBOR.
CONFUSION OVER THE POLL. [Per United Press Association.] OAMARU, November 4. A good deal of excitement was evinced in town to-day concerning the Harbor Board’s proposal, to borrow £50,000? - The ]wll was held yesterday, and late last night the figures made it appear that the proporal was lost by 45 votes. Another count this morning reduced the margin, to 15, while at present it worild appear that the proposal was carried by 1 vote. The result cannot be known positively until the papers have been checked and finally scrutinised, which mil occupy several days.
