MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.

Tho fortnightly meeting of Unity Lodge, 1.0.0. F., was held on Monday evening, N. Q. Bro. It. M'Ketterick presiding. Twentyproposals for membership were received, and ten candidates wore initiated. Fivo applications received for the position of medical officer were referred to the next meeting, when an election will be held. Tho lodge then adjourned, and tho annual card tournament with the Southern Football Club took place. The lodge proved victorious by 25 games to 17. Bro. Ledford, tho lodge’s organiser, made an appropriate speech, urging the young men to join, some good eound friendly society.
