PICNICS.

INSURANCE PICNIC. The insurance companies held their annual picnic at Quarantine Island last week. A large representative gathering of managers and staffs and their families took advantage of the fine weather to enjoy a trip in the s.s. Mahono. The catering was ii the hands of Messrs Searle and Eberhaxdt. Mr F. Martinclli’s string band played acceptable music during Uie day. The success of the undertaking was largely due to the untiring efforts of the lion, secretary, Mr W. O. Millar, ami the members of the various committees. On the return journey the prizes secured in tie sports were presented by Mr F. G. Cray, the chairman of the Picnic Committees.
