GARDEN FAIR AT “MARINOTO.”

The garden fair organised by the Ministering Children’s League in aid of , the Convalescent' Home Fund proved a 1 great ‘success on Saturday afternoon. Mr P. li. Sargood’s grounds at “ Marino to,” Newington, were thronged. There were competitions, sports, side shows, and refreshments, and, the weather holding up, a most pleasant afternoon was-spent. The secretaries (Miss Ramsay and Mr C. G. White) are to be complimented on the completeness of their arrangements. The competitions resulted as follows : Cakes (Judges : Mrs J. M. Ritchie and Mrs Henry Driver). —Plain sponge sandwich (seven entries), - Miss May Ewing 1. Fruit cake (two entries), “Orchid” L Shortbread (three entries). Miss M. Rarron 1.
