GARDEN FAIR AT “MARINOTO.”

The garden fair organised by the Ministering Children’s League in aid of , the Convalescent' Home Fund proved a 1 great ‘success on Saturday afternoon. Mr P. li. Sargood’s grounds at “ Marino to,” Newington, were thronged. There were competitions, sports, side shows, and refreshments, and, the weather holding up, a most pleasant afternoon was-spent. The secretaries (Miss Ramsay and Mr C. G. White) are to be complimented on the completeness of their arrangements. The competitions resulted as follows : Cakes (Judges : Mrs J. M. Ritchie and Mrs Henry Driver). —Plain sponge sandwich (seven entries), - Miss May Ewing 1. Fruit cake (two entries), “Orchid” L Shortbread (three entries). Miss M. Rarron 1. Pikelets (three entries), Mrs G. E. Richardson 1. Decorated Exhibits (Judges : Mrs Sinclair Thomson, Mrs E. Reynolds, and Miss Rattray)-—Parasol, Miss Simpson L Doll’s pram or go-cart. Miss May Ridings 1. Miss E. Roberts 2. Tricycle, Miss Doris Ramsay. Gentleman’s buttonhole, Miss A • Vollanee. ; Gentleman’s buttonhole (girfa), Miss Doris Ramsay. . Decorated hat, Miss Doris Cargill. Special for small go-cart, Miss A Vallange. Sweets ( Judges : Misses F. Sise and K. • M’Lean).--— Fancy sweets, four varieties (eight entries), Mary O.
