AMUSEMENTS.
♦ ALHAMBRA THEATRE. There was a good howo at the Alhambra rheatre last night, to witness tlie performance of tho Fuller Company. All the artists contributed very acceptable items to a good programme. Mr Les Warton, as usual, did not fail to please tho audience with his songs. Tho first part concluded with some humorous moving pictures. In the second part of the programme Mr Frank King, in his dramatic scena, 'The Road to Ruin,' held his audience's attention effectively, and did really excellent work. Tho "Musical Moko" was again warmly received for his playing, and \id to submit to a number of encores. Messrs Harvey and Morris, in what tho programme calls a " dell-wrecking absnrdity." created roars of merriment Several others contributed acceptable, items during the ontcrfcairiinent, which concluded with some bioscope pictures. PRINCESS THEATRE. Thus evening Mr William Dramatic Company will commence their season at tho Princess with 'The Worst Woman in London.' The play, which is «iid to be replete with strongly dramatic situations, and to possess a well-told story as the plot, has been very successful elsewhere. Tho rrKjlodrajrratJc features are relieved hy comedy touches throughout, which combine to mako a piece appealing at once to tho feelings of the audience. As the management mtend to produce a number of plays during the season, this one can only liave a short run. Tho company is «ud to lie ono of the strongest, combinations which Mr Anderson lias sent on tour through New Zealand. FANCY AND FLORAL FAIR. The fancy and floral fair organisod in aid of tho new church, site for St. Martin's Church, North-east Valley, was opened last evening, when gratifying business wasdone. A full list of the stalls and stall-holders has already been published. A comedietta, "Che Burglar,' was staged well by members of St. Matthew's Church congregation. The Drake family of musneians dispensed a pleasant programmo of music. Com petitions were decided as follow: Best buttonhole—Ruth Woodward 1, Robert. Stout 2. Ethel Woodward 3; while a special prize for best collection of buttonholes was awarded to Miss Pearly Bird. Tho fair will be continued this evening and to-morrow afternoon and evening. LESLIE HARRIS'S RETURN VISFT. Mr Leslie Harris will play a short return season of two nights in the GarrrFon Hall on next Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Since Mr Harris was* hero last July he lias appeared with success throughout both islands, cspeciallv at Wellington, where on several occasions numbers could not obtain admission. Miss Rosina Buckmann wfll again contribute several gems from her repertofro, and will have the services of Miss Flora GflfiUan as accompanist. The box plan will be opened on Saturday morning at ten o'clock at the Dresden.
