NAVAL ESTIMATES
FRENCH REDUCTIONS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, August 25. The Paris corre.<»po.ndent of the 'DailyNews ' states that a reduction, of £6,000,000 will bo made in the French Naval Estimates. The northern squadron mil be abolished owing to the Anglo-French entente, and the fleet will hereafter consist of two squadrons in the Mediterranean and one in the Atlantic. [On July 30 last the < Temps' and the 'Siecle,' leading French newspapers, discussing the subject of the reduction in naval expenditure proposed by the British Government, said that Great Britain has decided to reduce the Naval Estimates because she is able to afford a diminution in armament. Fiance, however, they point out, is unable to follow the example.]
