Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. THE INSURGENTS GATHER. HAVANA, August 23. Senor Terez (late .Governor of Pinar del Rio) has joined the insurgents. Bands of insurgents are at Santa Clara under Colonel Reinus and Mandieta (an ex-Congtessman), and another is at Santa Cruz del Norte, in the Havana province. The mayor and inhabitants of Aquacato have aleo risen. A SHARP FIGHT. HAVANA, August 23. The Cuban insurgents under Guerra (an ex-Congressman), after a sharp fight, capured San Luis, thus obtaining ah important base for future operations. A number of the combatants were killed or wounded. DISPERSING THE REBELS. AN ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATION. HAVANA, August 23. (Received August 24, at 8.51 a.m.) The troops dispersed Guerra’s band killing and wounding many, but the other revolutionists continue to hold San Luis. An attempt to assassinate General Nunez Governor of Havana, as he was entering his house, failed.
