The following teams will represent five Dunedin Hockey Club on Saturday:— Dunedin No. 1 v. Y.M.C.A. : Ritchie, Purchas, Easther, Boyd, Coates, Drako, Roberts, Ferguson. Fulla, Duncan, Fenwick, and Gow. Dunedin A v. Gymnastic : Sise, Dr Williams, Birch, O'Beirne, Hooper, Fisher, Shennan, Kellman, Salmond, Baldry, Styche, and Hobbs. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Trotting Association was held in Christchurch yesterday. The report showed an all-round increase so far as receipts were concerned. The balance-sheet showed that the total receipts had been £965 6s 9d, and the expenditure £754 lis lid. There was a balance of £llO 14s lOd in the bank, and £IOO had been deposited in the Savings Bank. The assets, amounting to £Bl2 17s 3d, showed a balance of £547 Is over liabilities. A Christchurch message states that the Christchurch Golf Club have been in communication with the Government relative to the granting of a subsidy in connection with the proposal to hold a tournament during the Exhibition season, and that a reply has been received to the effect that the Government will give the matter favorable consideration. The tournament, if held, will comprise events for men and ladies, and will take place on Shirley links at Easter.
The Albion Cricket Club arc making a determined effort to permanently improve the North Ground by draining, turfing, and top-dressing it, so as to make it a good sports ground and a beauty spot of the City. The improvements are estimated to cost £IOO, of which a sum of £2O has been donated by the Rugby Union.
