[From Otto Pa3ri,iamentaby Reporter.] Wellington, August 23. CHAIRMANSHIP OF COMMITTEES. The difficulty regarding the Chairmanship of Committees has been solved to some extent by the three Ministerial candidates for the position (Mr Flatman, Mr Wilford, and Sir. Wm. Steward) sending in a round robin to the Premier saying that all are prepared to abide by the Cabinet's decision, the two rejects promising to loyally (fcpport the candidate who may be chosen'. Mr Colvin will propose Mr R. M'Kenzie should Mr Wilford be the Government nominee. The bulk of the country party and of the Opposition are expected "to .•nipport the member for Motucka. Act ivo whipping is still going on. A COMPLAINT. In the House this afternoon Mr Hornsby complained that the ladies' gallery was overcrowded last night, and that the front scats reserved for the wives of members were "jumped." The Speaker said he had given instructions that in future the tickets issued should be limited to the accommodation provided, and that the rule regarding the front row for the wives of members should be rigidly enforced.
