ALLOTMENT OF PORTFOLIOS. MINISTERS SWORN IN. . [Special to the Star,] .... WELLINGTON, August 6. Ministers were sworn in this afternoon at 2.30. The following are the portfolios allotted in the new Ministry : Hon. Sir J. C. Ward, Prime Minister, Colonial Ireasurer, Postmaster-General, Commissioner of Telegraphs, Minister of Industries and Commerce, and" Minister in charge of the International Exhibition. M'Cowan, Minister of Justice, Minister of Mines, and Minister of Immigration. Hon. A. Pitt, Attorney-General, Colonial Secretary, and Mmister of Defence. Hon. J. A. Millar, Commissioner of Customs, Minister ot Labor, and Minister of Marine. Hon. Root. M'Nab, Minister of Lands and Minister of Agriculture. Hon. George Fowlds, Minister of Education and Minister of Public Health.
