He lias been right through the Seddon district?, between Kaikoura and Blenheim, and is surprised at the advancement being made in the country. He is confident that at no distant date the district will develop into an important dairying centre. Mr Kinsella was also through the Flaxbourne Estate, where settlement is rapidly increasing. Witting up the estate has given an enormous impetus to the small farming industry. and the country is now dotted with small houses, whilst -there is every prospect of rapid improvement. Ho thinks that the Kaikoura district is an ideal spot for successful dairying, particularly if the settlers engage In mixed farming. Beautiful grain crops can be grown there, in conjunction with the breeding of cattle. Ihe Kaikoura hills feed the lower levels much in the same way as Taranaki is fed 0 j- 111011 C <md the conditions in the district are not dissimilar to those prevailing in Taranaki.
