OBITUARY.

AUCKLAND, March 22. David Scanned died at Rimnera yesterday aged sixty-eight He served in the Indian Mutiny. He arrived in New Zealand in 1861; served in the Maori war and also chasing Te Kooti. He was appointed inspector of the armed constabulary, then resident magistrate, and finally a Judge of the Land Court, from which position 'he retired two years ago.
