Mr John O'Neill, an old aud respected tramway man in Dunedin, now manager of the tramway service in Frernantle, was recently presented with a gold watch by his old comrades in Dunedin. The watch was sent across accompanied by a letter in which the Dunedin men express their esteem for Mr O'Neill and their appreciation of his unvarying courtesy and justice. Mr Patterson, general manager for Australasia of the Ma-Tsey-Harris Company, will reach Dunedin this evening. Mr Gordon Shaw, a Queensland squatter, has gone to the Blue Mountains for ten days' deer-shooting A Hamilton message says:—Mr F. W. La»g, cx-M.H.B. for Walkaio, was the recipient of a framed address, together with a purse of 250 sovereigns, at the Town Hamilton, this morning: There was a large gathering of the friends and supporters pr went. Mr J. Fisher, chairman of the Waipa County, presided, and made the presentation, " Messrs Maesty, Herries, Kirkbridrpe, and BoKard, M.H.E.s, addressed the nwetirtg, bearing testimony to Mr Lang's worth as a member. The hope was freely expressed that he would again contest the seat at the next election. The proceedings were most enthusiastic.
