A GLADSTONE MEMORIAL

(Received November 6, at 8.34 a.m.) Mr John Morley, M.P., unveiledThorneycroft's Gladstone memorial, which has been erected immediately west of St. Clement le Dane's Church, in the Strand. The Duke of Devonshire, Lord Rosebery, and a great gathering of Liberal Unionists were present. [The site selected is said to be the finest in London, being in the centre of its most celebrated thoroughfare. St. Clements le Dane is immediately west of the old Temple Bar site, and near to the new Law Courts and Temple Gardens. The statue of the great Liberal leader is of bronzo, and represents the famous orator in one of his picturesque attitudes when addressing the House of Commons.]
