FUNERAL

HOE3TTKA, January 10. Mrs Teasd&le, of Brunnerton, and Mrs J. W. Thomson, of Greymouth, when, proceeding last night by a vehicle to Boss with, some other relatives to attend the funeral of Mrs Delaney, of the Grey Valley, a sister who died rather suddenly yesterday, were capsized over the h3l at a sharp turn on tba road. A messenger who came in for medical assistance in the early morning states that Mrs Teasdale was killed and Mm Thomson seriously injured, and that tba other occupants were slightly hurt. The buggy, which was drawn by a pair of horses, wag driven by the brother of tho family, a young man named John Gagliaxdi. Further particulars of the boggy accident show that when descending the steep hscline the brake refused to act, and the vehicle gaining way was unable to negotiate- the sharp turn, shooting aver the aide into the bosh below. Mrs injuries are serious, and she is still nooonseiows. She is now being brought into town. Mrs Jack, another occupant, had her arm broken and her ribs injured. The young man driving was only slightly injured, and was able to walk back to the Rrnm township for help shortly beforeirodnight. The vehicle was badly smashed, and the horses injured.
