; NOBTH ISLAND TODENAMENT. Id- tiie Champion Fours Bowling Tournament at Gisborne yesterday three rounds were played. Gisborne, Gseenmeadows, and Mount Eden each had the full number of wins, while Wellington, Hastings, and Petone each won two games and baa a bye. Gisborne and Carlton each registered 78 paints for the aggregate prizes, Mount Eden 77, and Greenmeadows 72. BOWL-TESTING. At a special meeting of the Executive of the New Zealand Bowling Association, held yesterday afternoon (Mr C. J. Payne in the chairj, Mr W. DaJl was appointed official bowl-tester to the Association, under the following conditions:—"That the official bowl-tester be authorised to charge a fee of 2s a set of four for testing bowls, the fee to be payable before testing; that the official stamp of the New Zealand Bowling Association be handed over to the testing officer, to be held by him, and that he be the only person anthorised to affix the 6tamp; that a sub-committee, consieting of the chairman and Messrs Sinclair and Altnnfct, be appointed to confer with the bowl-testing officer, and fix on a bowl to be the standard bowl of the Association; and that before the stamp of the testing officer be affixed to a bowl he shall satisfy himself that the bowls conform with fhe rules of the Association." Mr Dall's bowltesting machine is to be the one recognisea by the Association. It was farther decidea that, in the event of any exception beiii: taken to any bowl being played in the coming tournament at Chrtstchurch, the members of the Executive then present on that particular green upon which objectioa is taken shall U a committee to witu it, and m the absence of all members of the Executive the president be anthorised to appoint an umpire to decide." The meeting then adjourned to 4 p.m. to-day.
