AN ENGINEER ELECTROCUTED

[Special to the Star.] WELLINGTON, December 2. William Warren, aged about twenty-seven years, an employee of the Electric Lighting Syndicate, was electrocuted last night while attending to the switch-board in the powerhouse at the company’s station in Harris street. Warren was formerly an engineer on the steamer Tasman. The body was removed to the morgue. Death was probably instantaneous. The electrocution was due to the absence of rubber gloves, which all employees have to wear in the switch-room, on pain of dismissal.
