(Received September 23, at 10.12 a.m.) Both the ‘Herald’ and the'‘ Telegraph ’ disapprove of the appointment of Mr Crick as Chairman of Committees, though they are agreed as to Ids ability for the post. * A Bik hitioduced in the Assembly provides that the Cabinet shall consist of nine mcMbers instead of eight, as at present. The portfolio of Justice and Attorney-General will be,separated, likewi-e Alines and Agriculture, while the Colonial Secretaryship will he abolished. Two members of the Cabinet, will have seats in the Council. 'Jbo salaries of Ministers together will not exceed £IO,OOO. The specific allotment cf salaries to individual Ministers is repealed, leavhm k to the Cabinet to apportion the einoho ments of office. The Bill also abolishes the ic-election of Ministers on taking office.
