STREET MONOPOLY.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —In answer to that deluded and sinbhnded person who writes over the nam? R.i "Albany" in last nighfs issue of vour paper, who reckons that evervone who bciicvos in religion are cranks, who lowers himself so much to insult a poor girl who has given up her life and good home to work for God and fallen men and women on the .streets, shame on you to call that " rasrping." But, look! a few. weeks aco a man drunk, and rolling fiom one side of the footpath to the other, causing ladies to get out of his way, using language not fit for any decent person to listen to*; such a. man to he taken hold of, and through love and kindness has been shown the error of his way, and turned right round about. He now takes his money home, bought a nsw .suit last week, Irs talk is fit for anyone to heni, his thoughts have become pure, iiis actions clean. Now, I*say that if this change is brought about by the Power these religious cranks preach at the corner of Manse street, let us have them at every street corner in the City. Our friend thinks we ought to be removed to the Oval. We'.l, I don't think the people of this City would like to see us stop preaching at street corners, and we don't intend to give up yet. If he will just stay at Manse street all the time and keep his eye 3 open, he will see a. lot of work going on that belps to clean our City and lift men and women up from life gutter.—l am, etc., S. A. Scott, Jttx., Salvationist. July 27.
