TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—ln your issue the other day there appeared a letter or the subject of' cruelty to horses. The writer made it dear to even a novice that cab hones, if standing alongside the Bank of New Zealand for any length of time must undergo considerable pain owing to the hard and sloping ground. The Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals might give the subject some consideration, with a view to alleviating the troubles of the animals and also earning th< thanks of their owners.—l am, etc., Waxchttx.
