ALHAMBRA THEATRE.

One of the best turns performed on tha boards of the Alhambra Theatre for many j a long day was that given on Saturday I night by the Lentous. These two artists I went through a number of feats not seen I hero since Cinquevalli’s visit, and the man-' ner of their performance was so neat and taking as to at once stamp the performers as very high in their particular line. The I juggling of the apparently younger of the i two was especially good, while his com- I pamon, besides supplying a good deal of ! humorous by-play, proved an expert at juggling when a combined exhibition was given. The items of their turn would take I too long to enumerate, but it concluded ! with the difficult feat known as head bal- j Miss Kitty Lenton maintained a I well-deserved popularity with her excellent i rendering of s veral songs, notably some i coon songs._ The stalwart Steel sisters | scored heavily in their impersonations and 1 reng and dance turns, while Misses Millie 1 Herbirte and Florrie Swift sang accept-j ably. Among the comedians Denis Carney continues facile princeps, and he received support from Messrs Will Stephens and; Joe Rocks. Mr Tom Robins received a recall for his singing. Each portion of the i programme concluded with the usual farce, i one of which was an old acquaintance, the sole difference in Saturday niutit’s perform- i ance from those of former days being an 1 alteration in the nomenclature of one of the characters, which may or may not have ! been a wise innovation. Despite the pie- : thora of choice offered on Saturday to those desiring an evening’s entertainment there was a bumper house, and everyone appeared ■ thoroughly satisfied with one" of the best 1 programmes presented at the Alhambra for some time.
