HASTINGS, April 11. At the annual dinner of the Farmers’ Union on Saturday night seventy were present. At a meeting afterwards the various speakers lauded the Press of the colony. Resolutions were carried (1) against Mr J. T. Wilson’s proposal to establish an official organ for the Union, (2) in favor of establishing a branch of the Farmers hlutual Insurance in Hawke’s Bay, (3) to support the action of the A, and P. Society protesting against the attempt to invest the entire control of rabbit destruction in the district in the hands of the Board.
