EXAMINATION OF MOTORMEN.
_ TO TM X2UTO&. £sr, —I think the sooner the Government step in and examine the motormen the better. I could give you several instances where men have been put on as motormen who were not competent, but one will suffice. A certain conductor from the horse cars was put on to train as driver for a couple of days without passing the necessary examination. He was then put in uniform and given charge of a ear. When the next elass started he was one of that class, and feDed in his examination; yet he is still driving, while the rest of us who failed are drat out. If that is fair play, then lam A Dutchman .
